So I bought a 97 xlt 4.0 ohv 4wd explorer last week. The only check engine code I got was the p1747 with the owner stating that the OD went out. The abs light is also on but my scanner cant pull the code. Anyway over the weekend I pulled the VB and installed new gaskets while replacing the PCS solenoid. The explorer is still throwing up the p1747 code. When I had the VB apart I tested the solenoid clips for shorts. With the ecm unplugged all the connections tested infinite, no shorts. I was able to drive the car up and down the street before the cel came on. (nothing over 35 mph). The cel came on after I revved the engine a few times. Anyway could a bad vss sensor cause both the abs and P1747? Does the PCS circuit have a relay/fuse somewhere?
