I'm not finding the answer on the forum.

Why are more guys not going with the P265/75r15's?

As far as I can tell, the P265's are narrower, and would be better traction for winter. Not as much summer traction though.

Also, the load capacity of the P265's seems higher.
I'd think with the narrower tire, there is less chance of rubbing in the front.

Anyone tried both?
Pro's and cons I haven't thought of?

How much narrower do you think? 265 mm nominal tread width is about 10.4 inches. 31x10.5's are nominally 10.5 inches wide. I've had both sizes, and they seem to rub equally. You'd probably have to check specs for each tire style/model you wanted to try to see if they are offered in both sizes and how much difference there is. In my limited experience, I haven't been able to notice a difference between 265/75/15 and 31/10.5/15

Thanks for clearing this up for me.
So, on my Gen2 with stock height, I might have rubbing. I did add a leaf in the rear years ago as I was starting to see sag, but front is still stock height.

So, I guess its about which tire is the least expensive.
