hey man got a question for u... just the other day my tranny in my 91 explorer started doing something funny... it will up shift fine but when its in 3rd (d) or 4th (od) it feels like the tranny is jerking or as if the solinoids are spazing and unlocking the converter and shifting on its own... the tranny was recently rebuilt but i took it out of another truck and installed it into mine the other car had been wrecked... but tranny was good... had been great up till now.. .but like i said upshifts great and no slipping... think it could be trash in the valve body? or something of that nature....i know they have updated solinoids but i also have no check engine lights....

All you have is a 3-4 shift solenoid and a TC solenoid. TPS or brake switch could be telling it to unlock. If it happens climbing hills or acdceleration, ignition problems can mimick a shudder. If this has a double wrap OD band, some shopd adjust it to the single wrap spec. Must happen more than we think because www.atcdg.com has it listed as a problem in the tech bull. Being a rebuilt just makes it a totally different ball of wax.
