MY 1991 explorer paint on the roof and hood are starting to look kinda bad, I had painted my explorer which came out really nice and can be seen here, http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130269&highlight=xmodster's.
But I have since got a new car and left my explorer in the backyard for a long time, and the paint just rotted away.
Do you think my explorer will look good or ok if Ijust paint the roof and hood with some of that bedliner stuff. I don't really care what it looks like now as i am planning to lift it and have it for some fun offroading.
Also should do you guys think Dupli-color's truck bed coating would be ok, or should i buy some other stuff?

line-x has been used to paint whole Heeps and so forth. its a rough finish though, so I don't know if you want to go there if its still for sale, it would definitely de-value your truck since any possible buyer would have to consider stripping it to get it back to normal.

Nope i'm keeping my X, Also I want to go with a thin layer.

Ok so with bedliner out of the question, I decided to spray a reg black primer.
Today I sprayed the hood, grille and headlight doors.
Now when doing so I looked at the body lines and thought about painting it a two tone. I want to do so, because my truck would look kinda funny with just the hood and roof painted flat black.
I also went with flat black because I wanted the truck to look at the building stage not finished, but I think I like the look of flat black.

Do you guys think I should paint my X the two tone or stay with just the hood and roof flat black.

well we need to see what it looks like

:us: I will post some pic once I get everything installed again. :us:

i think that two-tone could be pretty awsome

Ok just got done putting hood and grill back on, here are the pics.

I'm leaning towards doing the two tone, since I still have the roof to do and I chipped some paint off putting the hood back on.

yeah...I think I'd go with the two tone too. And I'd paint that red support behind the grill.

Yeah I was thinking about painting behind the grill.

Lift it and paint the whole thing flat black. It'd look hella sweet.

And DupliColor's truck bed coating is great stuff. I used it on my bumpers and they came out awesome. Perfect point between rough and smooth, and flat and gloss. Good stuff.

i agree j, i just did my rocker panels with it, and i'm thinking about doing bumpers, that stupid little chrome piece behind the rear tires, and maybe up around the wheel wells.
