Painted my wheels

I finally got around to painting the wheels on my 01 sport. Was aiming at a flat black appearance. I left the caps chrome and will have them on after I go get the lug nuts tightened. http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/ff66/r3y90/Wheels/

they look good what paint did you use. I am going to do this to my 93 but I will also do the centers on it.

Looks good With the chrome caps it kind of makes it have the appearance of a police suv

Haha, I thought so too but I actually got the idea from a another explorer I saw with cragar soft 8s who had left the caps chrome.

update

hows the paint holding up, you said you used krylon flat black? the spray can? i've been dying to paint my stock rims black as well on my 01 sport too haven't mustered up the courage to ry yet though, paint still scares me a bit haha

I have Cragar Soft 8s with chrome caps as well. Although, I recently swapped the chrome caps in the picture below for the chromed steel caps that come on Crown Vics, Rangers with steelies, etc. I like the newer ones much better. My plan is to eventually paint the caps, the rear bumper, and the fog light surrounds with roll on bedliner.

The paint is doing good but it chips off if you rub it to hard. I recently got new brake pags and they weren't so careful with the tires so I have a couple of spots where the paint came off.

Nice Cragars. I enjoy my rims a lot more now. I wasn't to fond of that design, looks a bit girls in my opinion. They should of just done a 5 spoke design.
