Hey, how are you enjoying yourself down here in the heat. Most the trails you see off of the highway are from quads and rails just doing hill climbs. All the other other trails you see are service roads for commerical power and water crews. There are a few nice trails in the palmsprings area but I you get stuck and cant get out then you get a ticket and a tow bill. I would be down thursday but I have work friday and I dont get off work till late this week. Maybe DB_1 will see this thread and hook you up with some good trails.

thanks for the reply, well the a/c works great in the house so ive stayed cool but when we go somewhere its like opening an oven door when i step out side! the area i seen was on varner road and mountain view drive, there were trails right off the highway.so it just had me wondering what else legally was around.hey thursday sounds good to me if want to just meet up or somthin cause i,ll just be sittin around under a/c playin with a little mut that likes to bark at me:)....so i,ll be checking the post often, were going up on the tram today thats gotta fun! take care talk to ya later

Hey there kiadog, I'm off today but i'm going to be taking
care of a few things around the house. I'm working thurs
and fri so looks like I wouldnt be able to do a little wheelin with you. There is one spot I like to go mess around at which isnt to far from where you are at.
Its off hwy 111 between the the city limits of palm springs and where the 10 freeway and 111 hwy split.
So lets say you were leaving palm springs on hwy 111 and heading west you will see a road called snow creek road on your left. Once you are on that road there are a lot of ways to enter on your left so just take your pick and start exploring. It's not a huge area but there are some washes and small sand dunes as well as a little rock garden to play on. Have fun if you go there,
David

Hey Felix....have you started the install on the lift yet? If so, hows it coming?

I just remembered I have freaking duty thursday, so I will be working a 24hour shift. GRRR, I hate those shifts. I wouldn't be able to come down the mountain till friday night. I think that spot DB_1 is talking about sounds familiar, its on the way to the white water area.

DB_1, what a time consuming painfull and irritating experiance putting that lift on was. All complaining asside it really was not that bad. It took me about 12 to 16 labor hours to do the work. Thing is I had to spread the work out over 3 days, and inbetween the first and second day the garage was closed for Memorial day. Here is the thread about my Explorer, http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74987

Yep, its right there near whitewater, I believe the area is called windy point but there isnt a sign that says so.
They used to open the aquaduct and let water run through by the bridge on 111 just before you get into palm springs...it was pretty cool, almost like being at the beach but they havent done that in a couple years now plus i've seen signs posted by the bridge not allowing motorized vehicles:mad:

aww darn i was afraid of the during the week schedules,i might go and check it out and then go see the airplane museum thursday, hey felix how late are talking on friday night? if its not to late maybe i can cruise to the upper desert or somethin id like to see your ride and what youve done to it.talk to ya guys thanks for the info db-1 talk to ya guys later. anthony

I may or may not be working the rest of the week, i havent heard from the boss man yet so i'm in limbo. In any case, i was thinking even if i do work maybe we can do some late afternoon wheeling on fri. I'll let you know one way or the other what the deal is but fri afternoon is good for me for sure. Email me or private message me with a # and we'll set something up. It would be cool if you can make it too Felix.

I may be getting of work as early as 11:00am or as late as 4:30pm Friday not really sure yet. If I get off work early I would like to meet up with you guys either up here or down in the PS area. If you want to pm me with a number to get a hold you feel free or I can pm you with my number.

Hey DB_1 you still got my number from a while back, if so give me a shout. Saturday we are taking a trip to 4wheelparts in Riverside.

Talk to you all laters

Mark

KiaDog,

Let me know if you'll be around Riverside on Thursday. I live not too far from the March Air Museum, and I can show you my truck. I've been dying to do a night run with the KC's that Felix installed on my truck (Thanks Felix!!!). A night run in the desert would have been great! Maybe next time...

Well, here's a pic from our Friday the 13th run, kinda cool with the moon in the background. Glad we were able to get a little run together on such short notice. Thanks again for dinner Anthony, that really hit the spot.
So Felix, you now know where to go to test out your rig for future mods, you gonna make some disconnects for that front sway bar? Talk to you guys soon,
Dave

nice pic dave ,thanks alot! i got it just fine. hey digger! let me tell you about the way we do things out here in california.......................when you weld and are drunk things come out slightly off,so there are ya happy you reminded me of that horrible day! just kidding the reason for the hitch off to the right is that tdavis had a tire and jerry can custom carrier made.it folds down so in order to use it i put in the reciever tube to except the other end of the tire carrier when i need room inside for camping stuff.talk to ya guys later..anthony
