park and neutral starting problems

2001 explorer V6 after trans over haul started having trouble starting motor would start in neutral but not park now it wont start in neutral

Does the engine turn over but not start, or nothing at all? Need more info to get a better idea of what is happening.
 












assuming you mean the starter won't crank, it sounds like your neutral saftey switch. i'd talk to the place that serviced your transmission. it might just be an adjustment is needed or maybe they broke something.
 












I agree with koda you need to call the shop that you had the service done at. It sounds like the neutral safety switch.
 












Try serching the transmission forum and you should find your answer since I don't know off of the top of my head for your particular year.
 






i think it's on the transnission where the cable attaches to the trans. as far as testing, you'll need an electrcal diagram/book.
