parking brake.. its loose and i need it tighter

my parking brake really loose... i know that bolt around under the rear drivers side door, but i cant get it to budge to tighten the brake... any ideas! thanks

I don't know if this works on Explorers, but on Toyotas it does. Put the parking brake on and back up slowly in reverse. It should tighten the cable.
