1993 Explorer XLT
My daughter got a little too close to a Lexus SUV while drafting home from school. Kudos to her for trying to save gas in the slip stream, but now I'm looking for front end parts. What other model year Explorer parts will work on my 1993 XLT. I'm going for safe and driveable versus OEM looks, so slight mismatches may work. Major parts I'll need include radiator, hood, left front fender, bumper, antifreeze/washer fluid tank, headlight assembly, fan, grill, and windshield.

Thanks for any advice.

There were some slight changes in the first gen under the hood, but imo any 1991-1994 parts should do.

My local junkyard has at least 10 first gen Explorers in the yard. I had a similar incident and pulled a front bumper and a few other parts.

Good Luck!

Of the parts you listed, I can't think of any of them that are different between 1991 and 1994.

The changes up front were more wiring and "on" engine (like adding EGR or Cam sensor). The Fuse box configuration changed too, but I'd consider that wiring..

Thanks for the comments. I found out this morning that I have a bent axle and frame bracket damage. Looks like this XLT is riding off to the salvage yard or will be parted out.

By bent axle do you mean a beam? The axle drop brackets can be replaced. Thats what you do when you lift a 1st gen X.

Is it a 4x4 or 4x2?

Normally the radius arm bracket is what bends, not an axle drop bracket.

According to Hollander Interchange, these will be good for the parts you need, should you decide to keep it.
