I've looked quite a few different places & still have not found a parts list with exploded views & parts numbers. Does anyone know where there is 1? Thanks.

Generally I just go to a Ford dealer parts site and look it up there, for example (and this is for a 5.0L V8 EB, drill back to engine choice if you have the 4.0L engine):

In other cases you can go on Rock Auto and search for parts and a Motorcraft might be listed, or for the aftermarket parts, some will also show a cross reference to the Motorcraft part # as "OEM Interchange", for example here's a control arm for your '98:

These are old vehicles, many parts you may need, someone else has already posted about them in a topic here on this forum. I may know some of them, what do you need?

As a last resort (because it is so old and low resolution so a pain to use), you might check the 2nd gen Workshop Manual linked below in my sig, or often you can call your local Ford dealer parts department and they'll look up the part # for you.

As far as diagrams, beyond what's in the Workshop manual, or info in this forum, it may be even better to find a youtube video doing the repair. Chilton's or Haynes manuals can also help in some situations, but many times I find their info to be copy and paste generic info, beyond sometimes supplying torque values for fasteners but I have to admit that for most fasteners, I just wing it as I have a reasonable feel for how tight a certain size fastener into a certain material needs to be. I wouldn't rebuild an engine that way. :)

Thanks JC. I'll check out the manual & see if I can figure out how to download & install it.

I'm basically verifying I have all the parts put back correctly for my BW4405 TC. I've checked out numerous blogs & YT doesn't really have any extensive videos on that particular TC, so I'm mostly going by what Wolliman & Glacier991 have pointed me to, but even that has a lot of stuff left out. I'm test fitting everything now to make sure I have it right.

Appreciate you checkin in!

Appreciate you.

I'll see what I have archived for the 4405... This info isn't going to be in any of the places I mentioned except #1:

1) This topic: How to: - The Borg Warner 4405 Transfer Case Rebuild Diary

2) Diagram and some part #s: https://www.automaticchoice.com/Catalogue/tb_bw_4405.pdf

Wish I had the PDFs that these pictures came from, but I don't.

These are great, JC! Like you said, the number list showing the name of each part would be perfect but I think I got it now.

Top diagram here #39 & bottom pic #237 are the thrust washer that I needed to know where it went mostly. Everything else seems to be fit together properly.

Waiting on a pick up screen & tube but think I'm also gonna order the shift shaft & shift motor sleeve for both rods. Those are the only things I see that didn't get swapped when they did this rebuild before I got it. Everything else has newer parts including the sleeve for the main shaft. Just need to take the cases to my buddy with the drill press & drill those out & press them in.

Thanks man!
