Tried through the wheel well.. Can get to it but damn thing won't budge. I've soaked it with WD-40. Next I'm going to try heating it up with a propane torch and see if the heat will make it easier. Any suggestions.
Nah. An oxygen sensor isn't critical. But remove the connector from the engine wiring harness though so the bare ends don't touch each other and short out.
After many failed attempts and a few busted knukles, cuss words, the PITA still refused to budge. So I have to give in and take it to my normal mechanic to do it. I think FORD needs to seriously considering putting the 02 sensor in a position which makes it relatively easy to remove like they did on the drivers side 02 sensor. Of course the drivers side and the one behind the CAT were the easiest to remove since I did those first and second respectively and the last one is always the one that gives you trouble.
