Hey guys I have a 2001 Explorer XLT and recently my front passenger side door will not lock with the power locks anymore... I need to manually push it down to lock the door but it will unlock fine with the power lock controls... Just wondering if anyone knows what could cause this? Thanks in advance

Door Lock

I'll bet it's the actuator on your door. Assuming all the other doors lock but this one, I can't think of anything else it could be.

IF you tried searching, you would find your answer as there are lots of posts on this. Your problem is most likely broken hardware in the door... look at the "spring posts" and if necessary compare it to your other working door.

Its most likely something with the door springs. mine was doing something similar. it hangs up on my drivers side cuz the handle return spring is broken and the spring holding tension on the lock rod is broke also so the rod is at a f(*%##ed up angle and it wont move right. it decides when its cold to work just fine but when its warm it wont lock or unlock right.

Hi, I'm having the same problem. Did you get yours fixed? If so, what was the solution.

My passenger side lock will not lock with the Key FOB; I have to push it down manually. However, it will unlock with it.

Also, the passenger side window takes forever to go down but will go up fast.

It's so frustrating and I was hoping to find the answer.

Thanks!
