does anyone know where the PCV valve is located on a 2001 Ford Explorer v6 4.0?

some were in the valve cover, but most are in the extreme rear of the intake manifold, slightly left of center (standing facing the engine). they're almost impossible to see and a bit of a PITA to change, especially when the hoses are old and brittle.

Its a PITA to find on the 98 5.0 as well but if its similiar setup on this model standing in front of the engines its directly below the egr valve on the left side on the back of the intake manifold. It has a large rubber grommet around it and should pull right out.

Truck engine races on cold start but calms down to about 100 toms then it's good, sputters backing up unless I tap the gas shuts down if at a light for to long. Changing PCV valve hopefully that will help. What do you think?

Check engine light on? Scanned for trouble codes?
