I plan on being around forever, so I should have no problem burning a chip for you down the road. You can save a few bucks in the group buy, but we will always have the chips available. Once you get a chip, if you do a bunch of modifications and need a reburn down the road, it will only cost $40 for reburns, including the custom work.
In general, here are a short list of things you can modify without needing a chip reburn.
- Exhaust
- headers
- pulleys
- higher flow radiator
- spark plugs
- performance plug wires
- Electric fan conversion
- Intake (provided there are no steep bends before the MAF)
- Light intake and head porting
- PI head+cam upgrades on the 4.6L's
- Mild camshaft upgrades
- Different throttle bodies
- propane injection (nozzles in front of ATC sensor)
Here are the things that would warrant recalibration
- Injector upgrades
- Different MAF
- supercharger
- Nitrous
- delete EGR
- High lift cams
- Heavy head porting
- Custom intake manifolds
