Maybe it was because he didn't talk to Rick first about advertising/selling.

doh! Well Rick is there anyway you could work it out with him and see if a buy could be put together. Damn and i was really interested in that too!

Yes, that is exactly why. If he talks with Rick and agrees to all the rules, then the thread will be put back.

He emailed me and said he is in the process of working it out with Rick on the pricing and everything. He will update us when all that is finalized.

go to chat...or email me.

Patience will benefit all.

I am back!!! :)

I missed the vendor rules, but Rick was kind enough to work something out with us.

A group purchase is a go for me. I can do 10 or more chips at $205 each plus shipping. That price is for our performance calibration, any custom settings, and instructions. I would need at least a week or two to get that many different calibrations ready to go. Maybe if the group-buy post was left up for a few weeks, by the time the buy was closed I could have everything ready to ship.
I reviewed the rules and it looks as if I cannot organize a group purchase, but someone else can by contacting me ;)

I don't know if the original thread still exists somewhere, but if you guys want me to repost all the original information I put up, I saved it on my other computer.

Since it looks like there is definatly enough interest to do this, it would be great if I can get some catch codes from those interested. I am going out of town this weekend and I can bring my laptop and spend some time reviewing those codes and seeing what calibrations I have ready to go. If someone has a catch code from a pre-95 explorer, I would love to see those too. I want to provide you guys with better information on how much a chip can have over the shift points and firmness of the early generations of a4ld. That is a non-issue with 4r44E, 4r55E, 5R55E and 4R70W's.

Other than that, I'll be glad to answer any questions. I e-mailed someone in our area tonight, and if he is up for it we will take his explorer to the dyno and he can get before and after data to post.

Also wanted to mention that if you buy the chip now, we can always make changes later as you add modifications. Most bolt-ons won't require any changes, but if they do, we do reburns for only $40.

Take care everyone,
Brian

one quick question....can you include any other ford's in the group purchase?? I have a buddie that is looking into getting one that has a 2002 F250.

What is your company? Do you have a website? Tell us a little about you and company, please?

I just finished the paperwork, and our chip and duning division will now be called APTEN. Even though we have only recently incorporated, we have been helping people out for a long time in various areas. How I got into this is by meeting industry experts, learning from them, and networking with them. I have arrangements with several different shops and companies.

A few years ago, I met who I consider to be the best ford performance calibrator in the country. This guy has done programming and tuning for thousands of Fords, up to the lasted greatest technology. That person gave me the knowledge and resources to not only tune cars, but also really understand what is going on in the EEC. Although he does not work directly for us, we work together and share calibrations and information.

The website was up, but is currently down for redesign. I am trying to move to a secure server for e-commerce, so the whole domain is parked right now. I hope to have everything back up real soon. I have some FAQ files I’ll try get posted somewhere online for you guys to look over.

I have been pretty heavily into cars for quite a few years. My first obsession began with my first Thunderbird SC, and I kept going from there.

Thanks,
Brian

anyone find out what total would be with shipping?

fedex ground shipping won't be more than $5 anywhere in the states. Air shipping would be closer to $10.

Do you have a chip for a '97 SOHC (code SRE1) with a Borla and K&N FIPK? If so, would I notice any difference between yours and my SuperChip?

I can burn a chip for any code, including yours. I'll e-mail you with some more info.

I'm waiting for authorization from Rick to start a new thread for a group purchase.....so....keep your eye out.

1 question) If I miss the group purchase (I don't have an 02' Mounty yet) will I still be able to get a chip later on from you? It would have the 4.6 V8, and the 1st day I get it, duals are going on. And I'm ordering an intake the 1st day also or before. So should I wait till I have all the mods I want to do, then order the chip? Or can I send it back for updates? Thanks for any help and good luck with the company!
