Periodic Engine tick

Okay I'm feeling great. 6 days after buying my 92 xlt, the tranny blew. Seems like something I should have noted when checking it out. Luckily I bought it at a dealership with a 30 day warranty. New tranny for free!(Thanks Lexus Of Bellevue) My question:
After mashing on the engine for small amounts of time, when the engine goes back to idle speed, there is a very irregular ticking sound coming out of the front left side. Doesnt sound like lifters, but I may be wrong. Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions of where to start looking to fix it (before the 30 days are up)?

My '91 does the same thing. It only does it when it is warm and in gear. I thought for a while that it was the trans, but if yours is doing the same thing with a new trans then it's not my trans. Mine has 150K miles also. I guess this summer I will pull the engine/trans and give them a good going through(rebuild).
