Ive seen your ride its nice.

Your XLT is like mine without the moldings. But I actually like the molding... my idea with the "molding" it as one piece is to give it a sorta wide body look, but clean. Im not sure how it will hold up though in a year or so.

I will get the side markers, I dig those. I will also shave my door handles.

What spings did you use and how far did they lower you? What size tires are those?

Again, they are the Ground Force Springs. According to their website, it says they are a 1.6" drop.

My tires are 275/45/20's.

As I see it, there's two ways that you could tackly changing your molding...
1) Take your existing molding off and add fiberglass to fill in and repaint the moulding.
2) Fill in your mouldings with Bondo, and you end up having to repaint pretty much the entire sides of your rig. If you're going to that length, I'd certainly say that you should tackle the shaving of the door handles at the same time.

I would expect option #2 would hold up better, as it'd be as tough as your original paint...

OOPS! I didn't even realize that the picture I was looked at was chopped to make it lower!

Okay, looking at the original pictures, it's hard to tell which of ours sit lower. I do think though that yours seems a bit higher on the rear wheels...

I used bondo on my hood scoop and its cracking already. Im switching to glass. If I do the molding they will be with glass, but I dont know it will take all the twisting etc.

You tire is .4'' inches taller than mine. When you get a chance I would love to know how much space your have between your bottom fender well and top of tires.

it says they are a 1/6" drop..... ?

1.6" drop.

Okay, went out and did measurements:

Front
Ground to bottom of front fender, measured through centerline of hub: 31"

Ground to top of tire, measured with a straight edge resting on tire --so it's to the actual top of the tire, not to some point where the sidewall rolls into the tread: 29"

Top of Tire (measured w/ straight edge) to bottom of front fender: 2"

Ground to bottom of running board, measured at the first indented groove that forms the tread on top of the running board: 7 3/8"

REAR
Ground to bottom of rear fender, measured through centerline of hub: 32 3/8"

Top of Tire (measured w/ straight edge) to bottom of rear fender: 3 3/8"

Ground to bottom of running board, measured at the last indented groove that forms the tread on top of the running board: 8 1/4"

awsome thanks. Im going to see what I measure all around. I just remembered Eibach does 1.6'' in front and 1'' in rear. In this case I could just do GF rears.

Do you know if GF has the lowest drop?

I really don't know for sure. You might look into the Belltech. I've heard they might have a lower drop...

I did some searching and all I could find is springs that they say are only for 2WD Explorers... I wonder how the springs would be different???

do you have any issues with your GF springs? I got them sitting in my garage... I'm just wondering if they'll rub at all with my tires. (285/35/22) Mine are only .08" larger diameter, and .4" wider than yours.

Did you put them on yourself or have a shop do it? (how much did they charge)?

I think its just the weight differnce. I see Eibach makes a anti-roll kit for our X's. Thats a nice upgrade.

Just looked at Billstein and the dam shocks are still under development.

I could probably do your rear GF and this Eibach anti-roll kit.

Any good shocks your aware of other than Manroe?

belltech makes front and rear sways too. (stylin' says 2wd only)

Na I dont think you will rub. Its almost the same dimentions as trayson.

Check this out:

You can do side and width. Just give yourself like 10 more feet of stopping ;)

Those are some big wheels. Lets see some pics.

Previous owner did the springs.

I have no issues w/ rubbing at all. Never bottomed out either.

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat with shocks. I had heard a rumor that KYB was going to be making some... I just want something that will work and last.

If it was only 10 more feet I'd be happy... I'm sure its a lot more then that!
I'm probably going to end up having to get new rotors and better pads.

Also, the speedo is fine, only goes ~1mph faster when going about 60mph (against GPS). I'll get that reprogrammed later anyways.
