I haven't actually spent any time driving it yet, but the engine was the least of my concerns when we were taking test drives a few months ago.
I spent a fair bit of time fooling around with the Sync stuff. One thing I came across that just seemed colossally stupid: I tried getting the Explorer linked up to my house's wifi network, which has a password. The Sync gave me the option of entering a password. So far so good. I attempted to enter the password. 3 characters before I finished entering the password, all of the letters greyed out, meaning I couldn't enter any more. It seems that there is some inexplicable password length limit for connecting to wifi.
Other than that, we're still getting used to it. The seats seem very comfortable, which was one of my biggest concerns; my wife and I are both pretty tall and her RX330 seats were awful. She seems to love it, though, and that's what counts.
Now that we have it I need to install the HIDs I bought, and hardwire the radar detector.
