Hey wonderful guys and gals of the forum. You've helped me out alot, and for that I would like to offer my thanks.

I took my shift motor off for the fourth time... I cleaned it, sanded the commutator bars and brushes, and found out that the reason that the motor wasn't turning was because of the shoddy Uhaul butt connectors I used. (Thanks alot Uhaul!!!). I replaced those with 3M weather-resistant slide connectors, the motor turns like a dream when hooked up to a 12v power supply. Now, before I hook the motor back up for the last time, hopefully, I would like for someone to send me a picture of their shift motor so I can see approximately where the positioning sensor is. I removed mine before without scribing it, so I am not for sure that it goes where I have it. Thanks in advance.

Nevermind!

OMG. I got to anxious to wait for someone to post a pic of their shift motor, so I put it all back together on my truck. I aligned it according to the clean spots that were already there. I just test drove it. Pressed the button, that previously served as a reminder of how lame I am, and I damn near had to change my pants when the orange light came on. It's 2 o'clock in the morning, and I just got done running down the street cheering. The truck may have 117K miles on it, but now, it feels brand new. Thanks to all for the past threads and posts, it was everything I needed to fix this motor.

Glad to hear you were able to fix it. It really feels good when you can fix something that if you took it in it would cost you a fortune.
Sure would be nice if they would make cars easier for the owners to work on.

Congratulations! Same way I felt...had to drive out at 11pm to test it, all the lights lit up and worked better than I remember. :D
