I'm getting plenty of info from my friend that ran Pipeline a few weeks ago in his LR Disco. He stayed at the motel there somewhere so I might take that route instead of camping..... it will all depend on how much I want to camp...... will see. As far as eyes???? mine are there already.

Can't wait.......... I'm down to four runs this year...... one down three to go......

Later,

what do you want???? I'm getting older!! I don't know yet, that's what I said....... I love that stuff but my wife is not a camp type person................ if she goes, then motel....... if not, tent will do.

INFO?

Dre, get any info on this place from your L.R.D. friend? I am just wondering as to what the terrain is like up there. Also are we going to be setting up a permanate camp, or are we going to move it from day to day?

P.S. Your not THAT old Andre! Besides the hard cold ground is good for your back.

Pipeline in July

The Pipeline and other trails in the Nicolet National Forest are your typical "forest" terrain. The Pipeline is mainly a sand-dirt mixture with gentle hills, deep puddles, mudholes, some boulders, small rock outcrops, fallen trees, etc . . . . The other trails available to us are basically 15' wide paths of cut trees that includes mud, tall grasses, hidden boulders, swampy lowland areas, and lots of moisture due to the excessive shade of the forest environment. But don't worry, the last time I went up we never really hit a spot we couldn't get thru or get around.

Hey Andre: If your wife demands a hotel, I GET THE COUCH !! :)

I'm OK with camping........ my wife's not going so looks like my kid's tent will see some more use than just back yard. Got to get sleeping bags (I might not need those anyway. I'd say we just go there, set-up camp and then make up our mind if we want to move it. It's all set......

Later,

so what dates are we talking ab out?

Yup and I am even considering leavin Lax early friday morning cause I don't want to spend 4 days(work reasons) off to go wheelin and it is hard to set up camp at night so If we could meet up around lunch for those going on friday thats cool.
Hey trailmonster, I am going whitewater rafting on the wolf river this weekend. I heard this isn't too far from the Pipeline. I may have to go check it out and scope out the spots I can go when I get bigger.

I am planning on taking off about 8 or 9 Friday morning. It looks like it is about a 4 or 5 hour drive(guessing). I would like to be able to set up camp and then hit a trail or two and scout some for Sat. Anyone around me that wants to leave with me/

I don't think i will be making this run, or any local runs till Ramsey. I am going to try my damn best to make CCR2001. This is going to require me to save every dime i can. I also have to do a few little things to my truck. So you guys have fun for me ok... Also peep my post on NOIEC for the CCR2001 i am looking for other people to go. Zack Carr is going to be my passenger it looks like. and Cableguy ( jhon) is going to try to come. I was hoping kampy, Riff, and Dre may come since there didnt make Moab.... I will be getting all the travel info together from AAA.

Can I op for july 13th instead of the week after the 20th :( please! :) I really wanna go to this but july 20 to 23rd is a bad week now :(

Cheezus, can't you get it right ?? Don't worry, I'll protect you -- do you remember that saying "Leaves of three, let them be ?", well its just a myth, it makes a great substitute for toilet paper. Feel free to give it a try while you're up there.

OK, so I've been laying low for a while, but can't stop thinking about the run. I located an air compressor that plugs into my cigarette lighter, lantern, small gall grill, and small charcoal grill, plus all the tools for camping. My friend it still planning on joining us (she drives a Jeep Cherokee, so go easy on her).

It sounds like most of you will start out Friday morning, if you drive up the lakeshore on I-43, you can make a pitstop at my house in Sheboygan, grab a bite to eat, then off we go and will have time to do some wheelin' before making camp.

I can't wait !!:bounce:
