Plastic Center Console Armrest Frame

I now find myself having to replace the center console armrest for a second time in less than a year. The plactic frame is just not strong enough to handle the job it is intended for. Is there a thrid part medal replacement out there some where that I can get and fix this once and for all?

I've never heard of a center console repeatedly breaking like that. What are you doing with it? Are you a big guy? Just curious... We had one member who's Grandfather was putting undue side force on it getting in and out of his truck and broke one, but this is the only other case I've ever heard of this. There aren't any aftermarket kits or anything that I've seen.

I am not a big guy at all. I do push myself up using the arm rest when I get in the truck. I have seen the medal armrest replacement kits but they seem to be for a 2001-2002 Sport Trac.

You use the center console when you get IN the truck???

I replaced mine with a much stronger one from an older Explorer. It's the same as the Bronco II's were. Mounts fine, looks pretty good, just a little bit shorter.
