Plastic fender cap around power antenna

Need to know how to properly remove the plastic cap that is attached to the right front fender and surrounds the power antenna.

Antenna has stopped telescoping and I have a replacement but don't want to damage the plastic cap in the process.

This is on a 1998 Eddie Bauer.

Would appreciate any advice or tips.

Hi, I checked the Ford service manual that I have and it says to "unsnap the radio antenna base cap." The picture shows it being removed straight up.

I thought it might be something that simple but wasn't sure.
