plastic intake

anybody know if there is any advantage (other than 5lbs of weight) to swapping in a plactic intake from a newer pushrod 4.0??

The newer intake manifold with more plastic dissapates heat more effectively, theoretically resulting in better reliability, mileage, and performance; though I don't know exaclty how much of a difference it makes.

Thats what I've heard on it too.. I havent heard anything about Explorers doing it but I know the plastic intakes on newer stangs are known for cracking/blowing up due to the constant heat cycles and quick heating up.
