2004 Ford Explorer XLT
Alright, I am new to these forums and needs some advice. Also I preapologize if this thread already is out there! I have a 2004 Explorer XLT, when I bought it I couldnt afford the 4x4 so got the 2x4 instead (oops). I have already done some minor cosmetic mods, HID headlights, LED license plate bulbs, also have LED taillights. What I want to do is two fold, first fill the wheel well and second put on bigger wheels. I have the means to get a GREAT deal on some XD Monster rims and like the NITTO GRAPPLER tires. My question is this: CAN I GET AWAY WITH 255 60 R18 TIRES WITHOUT HAVING TO LIFT MY TRUCK?

I would love to see some pictures if anyone has some with this tire size. I can get a great deal on these wheels directly from the manufacter, but once I order them I cant send them back. So I need to make sure I like the look before I order them or I am stuck.:feedback:

The tire size is not an issue, as it is only about ½" larger in diameter than stock. The only concern would be the offset of the wheels, insuring that there is enough inboard clearance of the suspension.

XD lists the offset at +35. XD says that they SHOULD fit.

You can build the X however you want but since you have a 2wd and not a 4wd I would advise you build more of a street truck instead of an offroader but do whichever makes you happy.
