I have a few questions about my Ex. I hope someone can help me out.

1) My new to me 95 Explorer had a burned out low beam headlight (or so I thought) . I bought a new bulb and the low beam still doesn't work! I checked the fuses and everything looks good. Does anybody know where else to direct me now? The retainer ring is missing so there is nothing really holding the headlight bulb into the housing.

2) The blend door also needs to be replaced. I tried "search" but I didn't get good results. Can anybody tell me how hard this part is to replace?

3) There is a slight rear end roar that is only detectable between 55-60, no other speed has this roar. Could this be a tire roar or is my rear end going to go out quick? The tires have a 2004 date code so they need replaced.

I'm sorry for all the questions,

Thank you,

I cant help you with the light, or the roar, but (from reading up on here) theres 1 of 2 ways todo it....

1) being replace the whole assy. and all that, which I think includes removing your dash, which is NOT at all easy or fun, and I had alot of prob's with my 95 after I attempted todo that to paint the dash.

2) Theres a way you can pop the glovebox out, and cut a fist sized hole, to either OPEN or CLOSE the blend door, so basically in winter you have heat and only heat, and then come spring, (close or open it, not sure which is warm or cold) and then you'll only have air.

The headlight is a power draw issue most likley but I know nothing about electrical. The rear diff however I'd replace the axle bearing/seals AT LEAST. If you want to play it safe it couldn't hurt to open the cover and check everything while replacing all of the rear diff bearings (this is what I did). I've got all the bearings you need for a good price so PM me if you decide to go that route but better safe than sorry.

Rotate the front and rear tires and see if the roar moves. As for the blend door, how do you know it needs to be replaced? What symptoms do you have. Do a 'blend door fix' search. Lots of good threads on it.

The truck will only blow hot air if I have the temperature all the way up. The AC will only blow if I have the temp all the way down. I can actually hear the blend door struggling to change positions. This one is a Limited model and has the push button AC controls. Thanks for the tip on rotating the tires to see if the roar changes position.

thanks!
