95 EB 4-dr. I have had this for @ 1 year, I love it. However, all of a sudden I am blowing the 10 amp fuse in the #10 loc. It states that it is for:EATC sys. (??), rear blower ( never used), speed control, GEM ( ?), brake interlock, overhead console, auto. ride control. About 2 months ago I noticed when I started the vehicle one morning the info. center and overhead console didn't work. It worked when I parked the vehicle the night before. After replacing about 12 fuses in 5 minutes, I replaced the fuse and everything worked for about a week, then the same process. Now it has been about 2 months, problem free, and the fuse keeps blowing again.

I no nothing about electrical. What is up? How do I figure out what is blowing the fuse? Help Me!!

Only got a 96 schematic... hopefully it is close. Actually, not knowing much about the "ford fire" problem other than what has been posted here, it appears that maybe you have the "pre-cursor" to such condition.... although when I look at the schematic, it indicates that the "hot" is "hot in run" so I am not sure why it would be active in a non-run state... but that's what the "fire" problem seems to indicate... maybe a slightly different schematic. Not sure... sorry for alarming you.

Anyways, the easiest way to find it, it to unplug as much stuff as you can so that the fuse will not blow. Then, begin plugging in stuff until the fuse goes... of course, then the last thing you plugged in is a candidate for closer look.

My bet is on the brake pressure switch which is part of the speed control stuff which is part of the "Ford fire" stuff.... the switch potentially leaks and shorts causing a fire according to the reports. Try unplugging this first and see if your problem goes away. Its on the front of the brake reservoir. Good luck.

Holy sh**! I just read the posts on Ford Fire! Never even knew about it. So, I ran out to my vehicle, un-plugged the Orange plug, popped in the fuse, BINGO! Everything back to normal. Now, just to confirm, I went back the plug, plugged it in, the fuse blew again! When I went back to un-plug the plug until I get the new one...... white smoke billowing out of the top of the plug! A small amount of fluid got down inside the plug recepticle, poof!

Thanks, this board continues to amaze me! Not to mention it is a low-buck fix w/o getting " porked" at the dealership!

Just call me smokey the bear...:-) glad to hear it solved your problem. I too have this switch in my 96 but in canada, there doesn't appear to be any recall but I am keeping my eye on things. Good luck with your repair.
