Hey guys,
I havent been able to find dual exhaust for my Explorer. Its a 1998 4.0 SOHC and I want to find some nice sounding dual exhaust. Could some one see if they know of any. Also I believe my catylitic converter is a single out put so would I have to change my Catylitic converter to have dual exhaust?? Email me at onlysecondtoyou@hotmail.com if you know of any I appreciate you for looking at this

They don't sell dual exhaust for explorers. The best thing to do is to take it to a local exhaust shop and then pick out the muffler there. Then the can bend everything for you and you'll be able to choose where you want it to exit, etc.

The cat will stay the same. Its the muffler you will need to be changing. The duals will not give you any more performance than what a normal 2.5" pipe will. The only reason I would go with dual is if you're going for looks. With that in mind, you will pay a ton to get it done. There is very little room for the drivers side pipe. I could never get mine to stop banging around. I don't know if it was a crappy job, or if everyone has that problem, but I will definetly never get duals on an Explorer again.

If you do, it will have to be a total custom job.

Like I always say, Flowmaster 50 for the SOHC because of the dual inlet (Believe the '01 and later Sports with SOHC had the single inlet). For duals you're probably looking at about anywhere from $300 (if you get a good deal) to over $400 with tips and everything. If you want to get another muffler, Y-pipe it. Do a search there is way more than enough information on this already on this site.
