I'm confused: What are you trying to plug in and where?

-Joe

i added a full length console, the one with the rear air lower and radio controls, i have the harness that was cut, which of those needs to be hooked up to run the blower and side cig lighter? i don't think anyone has done it for the radio controls yet. i see that it has been done when i searched but info on which wires is not posted

OK, so if I'm understanding you correctly, you have the portion of the harness attached to the console and it's connected to the stereo controls and the rear blower speed switch, correct? And you're looking to find out where to connect those wires to power the rear blower and control the stereo, right?

-Joe

yes, i have the large plug, with wires cut

OK. What year vehicle did the console come from, and what colors are the wires?

i think it was a 98-99 there are about 40 wires plug is about 1.5" x 3"

if you cant find any info on here, you will probably need to get the schematics. you need the wiring diagram for your vehicle and the vehicle that you got the console out of. track down what wire should be power on your vehicle and which wire should be power on your console and connect. i had to do this to put a saturn radio in my geo. used both diagrams to match the wires up. any shop should be able to get these diagrams or if you got a little cash, buy the haynes book from autozone. they have diagrams in the back. actually my library has the books so you could go that way too. good luck

anyone? i've seen it talked about on here many places/threads but the actual info is not listed

A picture or three would be helpful... I'm having a hard time tracking down what it's connected to. The connectors I see for the Rear Integrated Control Panel are both 16-pin connectors.

ok, my poor cam but here are 2 pics

Bingo...

The rear blower motor is powered by the PK/W wire which should be fed from fuse #6 in the IP fuse panel (7.5A mini). That power is fed to the motor, and the switch controls the ground. The switch feeds back out to ground through the R/O wire which connects to the R/O wire on the back of the instrument panel HVAC switch assembly, specifically at pin #4. You could run it to ground, but it'll run all the time, except for when the key is off. (i.e. even if you turn the switch on the dash off, the rear fan would still run)

That should get the blower motor working.

There's also a feed for the rear air door actuator (which I always thought was just a mechanical link, but maybe not??). It might trigger something in the dash, or it might not... I don't have a clue. It's fed via the GY/Y wire from fuse 10 (7.5A mini) in the IP fuse box as well.

Now, as for the auxiliary power point, IP fuse panel #22 (20A) feeds the BR/PK wire, and grounds through the black wire in that same connector.

Does that help?

BLESS YOU!!! i'll hook it up tomarrow

What's the verdict?

i didnt get the blower to work, i did get the power socket ok. one the blower if a take 12v to pink wire with white stripe should it come on? or would a need a ground on one of the red wires with orange stripe?

thanks again for your help

Power to the PK/WH and ground the R/O will make it run. However, you'll want to either connect the R/O wire to the instrument panel wire I mentioned above (not difficult to do) or install a switched relay on the power supply (i.e. PK/WH wire) so that it comes on and off with the key.

This is the best lead I've come on for the blow motor wiring, gijoecam I didn't know if you had the wiring schematics in front of you or not I just put a full length in my 96 explorer I already wired the aux power outlet now want to do the blower motor and will be done, I seen the R/O wire but wanted to confirm the possibility of the wire color combination being the same so I don't short the motor out. Thanks

Edit: Oh yeah the console too is out of a 96 explorer
