Hi ,

My Explorer 2002 XLS with 51.000 miles on it has a problem when the automatic transmission shifts from 1 to 2 at about 15-20 miles/hour speed . It seems like that is a delay in shifting of about 2-3 seconds until the next gear. I'm the second owner and the first one have given to me the receipts where the car has been maintained. It looks like just before I bought the car the SPEED SENSOR has been replaced. More than that FORD has send a notice(on 03/23/03) to dealers that this part to be replaced. Anyone can help me with this ? Do you think that the SPEED sensor is the problem ? The transmission oil has been changed at 32.000 miles and now at 51.000 the oil is looking good , no smell , no change in color .
What can be the problem ?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you

Our fleet trucks were doing the same thing between 3rd and 4th gear. Turned out to be wrong tranny fluid. Even if you just did your fluid, I would get it flushed and refilled by someone that knows ford tranny's.
