Hello, I have a 1996 Ford Explorer 4.0. Truck runs very good. One thing that does bother me though is when I get up in the morning and start the truck everything works as it should. Drive to work everything is fine. Get off of work starts and drives fine all the way back home about 15 miles, Go inside for about 15 minutes and go out and start the explorer to go the the store and it idles really low. about 350-500 RPM. I give it a little gave for about 15 to 20 seconds and everything seams fine after that. Why the low idling when warm? Any advise? This only happens when The truck is started warm and oonly when it is being started. Thanks in advance

Clean the IAC MAF and Throttle body. Run some seafoam and reset the computer. How to's in the link in my signature.

What weight oil are you running?
When was the last plug and wire change?

Check for intake and exhaust leaks as well.

I will try that this weekend. Thanks, I am running 10W/40 Last Plug and wire change were about 6 months ago. How to check for intake and exhaust leaks? Thanks again.

At idle spray some carb cleaner around the intake manifold and listen for the engine rpm to raise.

You should be able to see exhaust leaks when you do the seafoam.

Cool I will try this stuff this weekend. I looked at some of your how to videos, Some awesome stuff. Thanks again!
