I had a magnaflow exhaust installed and it is driving me crazy. They replaced the muffler and put a new tailpipe on. This took out the factory resonator and has terrible drone problems. I went back and he said for $30 I could put in a glass pack that might help. It wouldn't fit so he said $110 for a new tailpipe with a resonator but that might not work either. I want to just start over and put in a dual exhaust with nice magnaflow stainless tips as the one that they put on started to rust already. Please leave me some suggestions that would help and cut out the annoying droning in the cab. Thanx

First off, what motor do you have? V6 SOHC, V6 OHV, or V8? I have a Magnaflow muffler on my V6 OHV, and it sounds really good in mine and other's opinions. It doesn't really have any drone when cruising down the street. I have heard that the Magnaflow is VERY droney on the V6 SOHC, so if you have this motor, you may want to swap the muffler for a Flowmaster delta flow 70 series(or another one of their more quiet mufflers).

Yeah i have the sohc. Do you know why it makes that much difference? Do you think it would help if I put a stock resonator in?

I really don't have any clue about the SOHC. All I know about them, is that for the 5 minutes I drove one, it was a lot quicker than mine. Sorry.

Going to another shop they told me that 2 magnaflows would quiet the sound. Would this help with the drone?
