- 1998 Explorer OHV 4x4
It didnt happen until I got my front tire changed. Sure occationally I would hear it but it was when i would lose traction I think.
The noise I hear is above 2600 RPMS. its a pop pop pop pop when accelerating. I think it may be the transfer case. I tried putting it into 4 high, and its there the whole time. unlike coasting in "auto", where it only happens when i accelerate.
What happened? I have a 99 ford explorer sport? with 4x4 auto.
am i able to drive this? what happens if the transfer case dies??? will i be stranded??
