I was perusing some articles and was wondering if I might have a clogged cat.....here's the issue(s) I just replaced the heads and the idle is ok (it has a few misses but nothing too terrible, it's just a little off) but when I drop it in gear the engine gets LOUD and just chugs away, almost as if it were running on five cylinders.
So I've done a few tests; I've listened to all the injectors and valves using a stethoscope, everything sounds uniform and I don't hear anything erratic. While it was idling I disconnected the MAF and there was absolutely no change in the running condition. New plugs, new wires have not corrected the problem at all. I have not tried a new air filter since with or without one it does not make a difference. any ideas what it could be? vacuum leak? a bad electrical connection? a merciless god who feels like poking at me with a pointy object? I'm am at a complete loss and can't take it to a shop for financial reasons.
