Ok....

I have narrowed my search for plugs and wires and have decided upon Denso Iridium plugs....

For wires I'm going back and forth between the Taylor wires and the Jacobs....

Two questions....

Ideas between the two wires or are they about the same?

Two.. I can't find the part numbers I need for my truck.... Soo... Could anyone please point me in the right direction for the wires and also a part number or two??

BTW... I have a 99' X XLT with the 5.0L....

Thanks in advance

It could be Denso doesn't make "tripple" platium being use on the newer engine. Personally, I would stay with Motorcraft and if Jacobs work for you go with it.

I've made mistake a few years back by changing my OE (motorcraft) with auto lite. It was the same heat range and same type of plug (tripple platium). The thing looks like 4th of July under the hood! When I changed all the plugs back to Motorcraft, it is like DAY to NIGHT!

denso kicks but but the iridiums are major $.. also never seen them put onto a domestic car... the newer toyotas run them though.....

i say for the ford, stick with the oem plugs.... taylor or jacobs make fine wires

Thanks for the advice.... Any suggestions as to where to buy? And part numbers for the wires?

I have the Taylor Spira-Pro wires in my 1997, they're excellent. You'll want to invest in some wire standoffs and wire looms to support the wires, the old Ford wire standoffs will either break on removal, or be too small for the new wires. Trans-Dapt makes perfect replacement ones, your autoparts store should have them in the "dress-up" area.

I am running Autolite 764 Copper spark plugs. They're cheap, and offer the best performance in a plug. They just don't last as long. For the price though, I'd rather change them often, and have fresh plugs :) You'll find many different opinions on spark plugs, just like oil. ;)

Plugwires have been discussed before, check out this thread:

I ordered mine from www.SummitRacing.com P/N TAY-72623 (Blue).

For info and pictures on routing the plugwires, and what the wire standoffs look like, check out my Headers install thread:
