My '94 Ex has 61,000 miles and I was looking to replace the plugs and wire. What kind of plugs and wires would you guys suggest. I would also like to be able to pick them up at Autozone or Napa and not have to order them online. Thanks in advance.

Unless you are going for performance (expensive) plugs, i recommend the lower model ($2-$3) NGK plugs. I have always been partial to them and have never had any problems. If you are going for performance, then I recommend the NGK Irridium (sp?).

Motorcraft Double Platinum plugs. You can get them at Autozone for about $4/each. Need to be gapped to .054

Since you don't want to order online, just get the best wires they offer for your X at the parts store. If you can get wires with a lifetime warranty get those. That way if they crap out on you they give you another set for free.

Do wires really matter? Is there a big difference between the Performance ones and the regular ones?

Wires CAN make a difference. I use Jacobs wires and they work great and help with the MPG too.

In a high performance engine wires make a big difference. In an Explorer engine bad wires are bad and good wires are good. In other words just get the AZ lifetime wires and you cant go wrong.
Motocraft double platnium plugs will outlast most others and are best for your engine. Dont get sucked into the split fire of bosche 4 tip BS. They are no better and could be worse than the Motorcraft plugs.
