Im pretty new to this site but from what I can see there are many people willing to help, and was wondering if you could help me out I have read many trans, tc forums and am still having trouble to give you a little background I bought a 96 explorer XLT v6 4.0 control trac with 195k miles from a friend who was the only owner he was having problems with the tranny had that replace with one from a junkyard drove that for some time and started having problems shifting also had grinding noises he had the X sitting in his yard for the summer and when I came to look at it we tried to move it he put it in reverse it moved a few feet and we heard a loud grinding noise and that was it the X would not move anymore it starts you can put it in any gear and nothing happens you can put it in drive and rev the engine but cant go any where this happens in all gears I was hoping someone could tell me what this might be or what I can do to pinpoint the problem before buying a new tranny or tc and end up not needing it I appreciate any help or feedback I can get srry so long
