It's actually impossible to change the fuel filter without going into the fuel tank because the fuel pump and fuel filter are located inside the fuel tank.

So is it cold where you are going? Only way I could see significant water ingress.

could have been badly rated gas.

and finally - did you maybe accidentally put some E85 in the car, or something more than the E10?

That's more and more common in places

the seafoam will help clean out the injectors of what might be burnt on but keep premium in the tank for a while
