PO171 and PO174 mechanic cant fix

Autozone is just the distributor of the part they are not responsible, the only chance you have (and this is a stretch) is talking to the manufacturer.

Don't you have the original MAF that you can provide to Ford for the core charge and then return the one to autozone for the reimbursement?

What were they doing for ten hours??!!! Is that $1200 all labor or did you at least get some new parts out of it? Ten hours and $1200 to replace a maf is just a little high. They should have been able to it in 8.5hrs and for about $1050, LOL

Lucky they know you. I'd hate to see what they do to people they don't know, lol

no because i gave it to autozone to avoid their $35 core charge lol. i cant win.

I would think the manufacturer would have a warranty on the part which should cover this situtation. :dunno:

Well Autozone should be able to provide you with your(a) core MAF in exchange for their bad sensor. That isn't good, the dealer should have been able to find that in no time. I would contact a Ford Service Rep, over the heads of the dealer. I don't go to a dealer, but where I get parts I know some of the techs, and writers. They would not do that to me, I suggest that they did not give you a deal, just the opposite. Good luck,

You should have put your foot down and told them that your not paying for their incompetence as mechanics. Tell them you'll pay for the part, the labor to put the part on and for a hours worth of diagnosing. If they could not find the problem in an hour (their computer tells them alot more than a scanner tool) then they are very crappy ran place. If you've already paid...I'm sorry. But there is no way I would have walked out of there with a bill for that much for a 50 dollar part. Glad you got it fixed though.

ive already paid unfortunately. the worst part is my dad knows this owner of the dealership and i dont want ford to put anything on him.

I didn't see any mention in earlier post at to what is a good tire pressure for pushing the SUV over the cliff?? jk. As for the current problem, Take your license plates off and give the stealership two new bay doors, right through the showroom floor. IMO

ps. let use know if you choose the later as we will want to get it on VIDEO!
