Ok guys I just got my reverse-indiglo white faced gauges, and I'm coloring my needles today. I need to know, red or blue? My truck is blue, but my x-plod head unit has red surround. The gauges are blue numbers etc, so I'm not sure what color to make them. Help me out!!

i'm with red to match the HU

red definately matches the shceme you described, as long as it's a similar color of red

I would say red, it would match your HU and look good with your blue #'s on the gauges.

How do you color the needles, just use like a hi-liter type of marker?

I have red ones in mine and love em, go with red

I said Red. Like SaleenEXP said it'll go good w/ the blue guages and w/ your HU. The contrast will be nice also.

I'd say red also, for the same reason as everyone else.

I did 'em red and they look GREAT!!!!!

get us some pics

how did you color them? I heard that painting them (etc) makes them weigh too much and they become decalibrated. I'm intrested cuz I just put on the procarparts.com euro reverse indiglo kit on mine (looks totally pimp, i love it), and the needles are damn tricky to glance at during the day.

I just put in the reverse indiglo ones too.... and i love them!!!

i colored the needles with a Sharpie permanent marker, just colored the top of the needles, and they glow red now at night. very cool....

Hey, to line your's up, did they give you the little plasic rings?! In my box all I got were the guages, wiring, inverter, and switch. They said it should have plastic rings to hold them down with (somehow)... but I didnt get those. I just held them as close as I could over lit cluster lights and taped them down. It was annoying but worked pretty well... and I have to say... along with the brown wire trick... this mod is fun and makes your X stand out a bit.... people are always staring at my dash now when I drive... its funny to see.

Didn't get any rings to hold the gauges down. Wish I had, cause my needles stick just a tad, and now I have to go back and tape them down with double sided tape. But since I've gotten the gauges, I've gotten so many compliments on my dash that it is well worth it!!

Here they are guys..... thanks for the votes!!!

Whoa, where did you get that carbon fiber thing? The red looks very good.

The carbon fiber bezel was on eBay for like $17 bucks... just search for 'Explorer carbon fiber' or something close to that...

If I would have seen this on time I would have voted for blue. But red is cool too. Here are my blue needles:

and at night (unfortunately they are kinda dark at night but the reverse indiglo makes them easy to see anyways:

Oh damn I like that too..... I don't think I would've been able to decide if I saw that. Very nice man I like...

Brandon by the way, mind if I steal your night shot for my website until I can get one of my own??
