Poor Gas Mileage for 2002 Explorer Sport Trac

Is there anything I can do to increase the gas mileage on my 2002 Explorer Sport Trac? I am only getting around 16 mpg.

If you have Goodyear RT-S tire, some new ones would help, like Michelin LTX
