I have a 1998 Explorer and every time I go to accelerate I hear and feel a pop in the steering wheel. I have replaced the ball joints, cv axles, front shocks, steering rack was replaced 4 years ago, sway bar bushings are new. Can anyone out there please tell me what could be causing this or give me some ideas on where to look for the problem?

Steering shaft?

Maybe front diff bushings or front driveshaft.

maybe the rack could be loose and moving when you accelerate.

tie rods. I just replaced my inner and outer tie rods and it fixed my pop on sharp low speed turns.
