I get frequently a message on the left side of the cluster panel to hold the steering wheel while driving. I always do that, but I suspect the SW thinks that I am not. Maybe because I drive on a dead straight road, and hardly need to give steering input. Does any one know how to disable these messages from coming?

Another thing is that I have had twice now a message popping up, saying that I have been driving for a while, and should take a rest.... message came after 10 minutes of driving..... Am I dealing here with buggy SW? Anyone had this happening as well?

Its an 8 months old 2015 Explorer with all possible option (Including lane departure, collision warning, self parking eg.) and 8000km.

If I remember correctly the Driver Alert system is integrated with Lane Departure (LD) so if you're driving on a straight road but wander a little and the LD system goes caution yellow or red alert it relays a message to Driver Alert?

When the system gets a few yellow or red it then suggests you take a break because its sensing your driving habits are consistent with someone losing focus.

At least that's how it was on my 13 Limited with LD and Driver Alert.

Maybe somebody with a Limited or Platinum can explain better, my Sport doesnt have either system. Poor marketing decision in my opinion as it's another safety system that could save an impact or injury incident.

Try turning Lane Departure off and that should, I think, probably fix the issue you are having. Personally, I think it is one feature I would turn off if I had it. In checking the manual, it turns out that Lane Departure is a non-configurable feature meaning that even if you turn it OFF, it will always default to ON when you start the vehicle.
