Possible Catalytic Converter Replacement Needed

It seems my cat is dying, so I was wondering what you guys recommend. I see there are universal cats that weld in, or there are direct fit replacements that bolt in. Any thoughts on what to do?

Unless you like to torture yourself, I'd recommend that you take it to a muffler shop.

When I had Tahoe, my cats died, and I got a complete Y pipe with the cats for about $ 400 from eBay. It took some cutting and bloody knuckles, but I replaced it and it cleared the codes.

yes, those are bolt in kits, no welding.
