I have a 02 Explorer with the 4.0 and when I got it it had a battery light on and a Flashing OD light. Bought a new battery and had the alternator checked by an alternator/starter shop and it was fine. Used volt meter and alternator IS charching the battery but the battery light stays on.
The codes said that I had a bad "Shift pressure B" or something like that. Put new shift pack,filter and fluid in the tranny and it still has same problem and code. Actual problem is over reving waiting for gear change. 2 to 3 maybe, is kind of how it feels. Doesn't slip, buck,skip,hop etc... just takes for ever to finally shift then runs fine. Thought it would be PCM so I got a good (suposed to be good) junk yard pcm and installed it. All lights,fuel pump etc comes on but will not turn over. Now I am being told I have to have the computer flashed for my Vin# and that could be around 100 to 150 to do this? Does all this sound right or have I missed some thing?
