Blocks only work to lift vehicles for spring over axle applications. Explorers are spring under so blocks will not work. Add a leafs and/or extended shackles can lift the rear of an Explorer 2-3 inches if that's what you are looking for. I don't suggest blocks even in spring over though unless you never go off road. The original lift I put in my Bronco had blocks and it made the truck ride awful. I took them out and did a shackle hanger reversal with F350 hangers instead and greatly improved my suspension.
Does anyone know a part # for some 1994 ford X lifting shackles from Autozone or anywhere, what do they cost?
Also, does anyone have a picture of the shakles installed under their X?
Thanks
The autozone shackles are universal. They got one hole up top and 3 down below, so i guess you could say ther're adjustable. I got mine for like 15 bucks.
The best way to make them last longer and help them be stronger is to put a piece of pipe at one of the middle holes with a bolt through to make it stronger to not et them flext sideways too much and either break or bend from flex.
I dont have a bolt or any support inbetween them, and I have only had them on for about 3.5 months now, but so far so good. I put a little grease in where it connected with the bushings so it wouldnt squeak, and i put some locktite on the nuts....just in case
