Power Aerial - What goes up won't come back down

Title says it all really. On my new (to me) '99 Ford Explorer, the power aerial will go up when the radio is turned on, but won't come back down, and I'm currently debating whether to fix or replace it.

I'll continue searching the forums for a solution, but if anyone has any recommendations or knows of a UK supplier I'd be grateful.

That happens alot, its the teeth in the plastic flex rod that gets wound up and out by the motor..Expensive from Frauds..I just binned mine and taped up the electric plug to the aerial and fitted a rubber stubby from Halfords,around 12 quid!
you can get replacement flex rods on e bay- but the housing is packed with grease and its messy- after taking it apart i changed my mind!
