Hey All,

So I recently bought a used '05 Explorer and noticed that both inside power buttons will unlock the doors but not lock them. The interesting thing is that it is the lock side of the button that locks it while the unlock side does nothing. You can lock it manually, by remote, or automatically when you start driving. Any ideas? Also the "check charging" light comes on when accelerating in the lower gears. Is that connected? Thanks

So what I meant to say is that it is the LOCK side of the button that UNLOCKS it while the UNLOCK side does nothing. Thanks

I have the same issue, remote works, and the switches (either door or in the back) don't unlock the doors.

Possibly a broken/damaged wire in the boot between the body and the driver's door. I had a bunch of electrical issues. When I fixed a broken ground wire in the boot it also fixed the issues.

Here is a great thread for removing the door panel, thanks to borland for the awesome write-up: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=249253
