I've recently discovered a problem with my explorer.

When I go through the driver's computer and I try to go to turn off the power running boards, there is no selector. When I hit reset to change the options, nothing happens, there is no arrow showing the current selection, and it obviously doesn't move when i hit reset. I tried pressing reset the corresponding number of times (the boards are currently set as automatic) to turn them off, and that doesn't work either, so it appears I have no way of changing the options.

Does anyone have any place I can start to troubleshoot for this? I'm currently resetting the PCM by disconnecting the battery right now. I'm wondering where to look next if this doesn't (I don't think it will) solve my problem.

EDIT:
PCM reset did not fix the issue.

Try a different button or hold the button down. I cannot remember what the steps are off the top of my head since I have not done it in a while (I do recall it not being easy to accidently change)... I know that the owners manual walks you through the steps to do it though.

The owners manual does not have any information on a faulty menu.

In my original post, I state there is no selector icon for the menu option for the running boards. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough on that. All other options show the current selection. (Park assist, easy entry, etc)
