After changing the power steering pump I still have a slight leak from the pressure hose. I know you have to be cautious to not over tighten. Just lightly tightening results in the O-ring splitting. Any tips or tricks on this?

Any idea where to get JUST the nylon/Teflon o-ring where the hose nut meets the pump? I think that is the only seal and did not see anything else when I took off the hose (of course it was leaking to begin with) any pictures or diagrams would be great.

Ford says must buy the whole hose but I got to believe someone has found this part separate.

When I did my engine swap, I hunted all over and finally found the seals at NAPA. They had a small compartented box behind the counter will all different sizes. He handed me a few and said these are for Ford PS hoses. I thought they were too small, but he insisted they were correct. So, I fought to get them on, actually threaded them onto the fitting. Then installed the hose and prayed a little.

Well, 12K miles so far and not a drop.

So, long story, but you can get them at NAPA for ~$0.50each. Let me know if you cannot get them.

I'll Give Them A Try

Thanks, I'll stop by one tonight and give them a try. Does the metal part of the line move (wiggle) even with it tight?

Don't mean to bump an old thread, just filling in information. The hose will still have some play when fully tightened

Since the old thread has already been bumped I will add that the nylon 'O' ring is made smaller that the threads it must go over. Heat it in a bit of water on the stove and stretch it and it slips right on. Ford even has a special tool that is tapered to make stretching easy. I just pulled on it.

NAPA didn't have them, O'Rilley's did but I got the Ford parts guy to break a bag of them and sell me just one.
