power steering noise

2010 EB with 40k miles. When cool I get a high pitched noise that I can feel in the steering wheel at 1500 RPM that is worse when turning. Any body got the same symptoms?

Some noise is normal during operation.
If the noise is excessive, check for low power steering pump fluid level.
And do not operate the vehicle with a low power steering pump fluid level (below the MIN mark on the reservoir).

Hi Vern,

Swing by your dealership so they can listen to the noise. They'll be your best bet to determine if your Explorer is performing normally. Let me know what they say; if you need any assistance, just send me a PM.

power stearing noise

I recently read a note on the internet from a Explorer owner where he stated that Ford service had replaced the pump plus the rack and did not fixed the noise. They finally bypassed the fluid cooler an the noise stopped. Of course the dealer returned it to factory but then said "normal" condition. ?feedback?
